Back-to-back 20-point games for LSU’s Jarell Martin and a career high night for Janelle Perez of Northwestern State earned the pair the committee votes Monday for Louisiana Sports Writers Association college basketball player of the week.

Martin had 24 points and 9 boards in a win over Southern Miss, while he posted 26 points and 8 rebounds for the Tigers in a win over Savannah State.

Perez helped the Demons win their Southland Conference opener over Houston Baptist with 30 points for the Lady Demons.
