Fans will get a preview of the LSU women's basketball team in action as the Lady Tigers host a pair of free admission exhibition games on Thursday, Nov. 1 and Tuesday, Nov. 6 in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

LSU will take on Xavier of Louisiana on Nov. 1 followed by an exhibition against North Alabama on Nov. 6. Both games tipoff at 7 p.m. in the Maravich Center. Doors to the arena will open at 6 p.m.

It marks the second straight year that the Lady Tigers face Xavier in an exhibition contest. LSU beat the Gold Nuggets 102-41 on Nov. 2 last season.

Xavier, an NAIA school in New Orleans, finished the 2011-12 season with a 26-9 overall record and a 12-2 mark in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference to win the regular season and tournament league title. They finished 16th in the final NAIA Division I Coaches poll.

North Alabama, an NCAA Division II school in Florence, Ala., was 15-13 overall last season and 5-9 in the Gulf South Conference.

The exhibitions will serve as a tune-up for the regular season, which begins Nov. 11 against Wichita State at 2 p.m. in the Maravich Center.

Season tickets for the 2012-13 LSU season go on sale Wednesday, Oct. 10. Tickets can be purchased online at, by calling (225) 578-2184 or in person on the first floor of the Athletic Administration Building.

Head coach Nikki Caldwell begins her second season at LSU after guiding the Lady Tigers to the NCAA Tournament second round and the Southeastern Conference Tournament championship game.
