LSU sophomore right-hander Aaron Nola appears on the 22-player watch list for the 2013 National Pitcher of the Year award.

The award, sponsored by Diamond Sports, will be presented on June 29 as part of the College Baseball Hall of Fame's annual Night of Champions event in Lubbock.

Nola, a native of Baton Rouge, is 10-0 this season with a 1.99 ERA in 13 starts for the Tigers. He has worked 95 innings, firing 97 strikeouts with only 13 walks.

He is second in the SEC in wins, third in the league in strikeouts, fourth in opponent batting average (.192) and fifth in innings pitched.

Nola fired his fourth straight complete game victory and his second shutout of the season when he blanked Florida 5-0 on May 3. He became the first LSU pitcher to record four consecutive complete-game victories since Mike Sirotka accomplished the feat in 1993.

Nola also became the first LSU pitcher to fire two shutouts in one season since Greg Smith recorded two in 2005.
