Many kids took to the pond at Cabela's to take part in the fishing derby Saturday morning.

On Saturday, the National Pediatric Blood Pressure Awareness Foundation came to Cabela's to put on their fifth annual Cabela's Blood Pressure 4 Kids Fish Derby.

This event was created by the organization to bring about awareness of blood-pressure issues in children and the need to increase screenings.

In Saturday's derby, kids were able to take to the Cabela's pond for a morning of fishing. There was also music, games and food--which included delicious funnel cakes. At the end of the event, there were prizes given for the biggest fish caught for each age-group.

However, the most important activity of the day was the free blood-pressure screenings for the kids.

The NPBPAF provided registered nurses to screen any children over the age of 3.
