Jambalaya Festival 5K run coming this Saturday

The 48th Annual Jambalaya Festival will be conducting its 5K run and 1 Mile Fun Run this Saturday.

The race will start and finish in the festival grounds on Irma Boulevard, next to the jambalaya-cooking section in Gonzales. Registration starts at 7 a.m. with the 5K beginning at 8:00, followed by the 1 Mile Fun Run at 9--rain or shine.

All participants will receive a complimentary t-shirt, drawstring bag filled with prizes and coupons and a free bowl of jambalaya at the post-race celebration on the festival grounds.

Awards will be given to the Top Overall Male and Female and the Top Two from each male and female age-group. Visit CajunTiming.com for more information on how to register, fees, and age groups.

The 45th Annual Jambalaya Festival will be held May 22 through May 24, featuring food, cooking competitions, rides and a wide variety of musical acts, including headliner Chris Cagle on Saturday. The Jambalaya Festival 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run is sponsored in part by Caro Clinic and The Salad Shop.
