The bowling playoffs started on Monday evening for many parish squads.

The Dutchtown boys entered their first-round matchup with Woodlawn as the top team in the parish as they bolstered a perfect 12-0 record and the No. 2 seed from the Baton Rouge area.

At All-Star Lanes, the Griffins rolled past Woodlawn, 26-1, to remain undefeated and punch their ticket to the next round. Trey Kauffman's high series of 637 and Chad Conard's high of 628 were more than enough to win the match for the Griffins.

East Ascension was eliminate by third-seeded and 11-1 Runnels in a close 17-10 matchup.

Fifth-seeded St. Amant then cruised past Tara, 25-2, to grab a spot in the second round.

As for the girls, the St. Amant Lady Gators were eliminated as they took a tough 21-6 defeat to Denham Springs. East Ascension was also eliminated as they lost a close match to St. Michael, 16-11.

Though, the Lady Spartans' Bailee Chapman is still very much alive in singles competition. Against St. Michael, she had a high score of 234 and a high series of 622.
