Vampire 5K coming to New Orleans next weekend

On Oct. 4, runners will decide which side they will choose--to chase or to be be chase in the inaugural Vampire 5K New Orleans.

The race begins at dusk and ends under the moon. Participants may register as either a vampire or citizen. Citizens are in all white and start in one location, Vampires are in black and in another.

The paths converge at an unknown location and then, the hunt is on.  Vampires will try to "convert" citizens by pulling both white garlic flags while running through fog and red powder zones.

Participants will then “celebrate eternity” in the post-run Red Dusk after-party with music, red-colored beverages, food, fun awards and makeup artists on hand ready to “transform” any willing citizens into new vampires.

Included in the registration fee: Running Sucks Vampire 5K T-shirt, bite mark tattoo and entry into the Red Dusk Party.

Proceeds for this event will benefit the Mission To Hear Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping give the “gift of hearing” by providing hearing aids to under-resourced kids and adults.
