New Orleans Saints running back Lynell Hamilton is expected to miss the entire season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

The backup running back played in nine games during the regular season in 2009. He carried 35 times for 125 yards with two touchdowns. He also recorded five receptions for 48 yards.

Hamilton, in his second year, was set to replace departed veteran Mike Bell as the team's power back to complement Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush. The Saints currently have a pair of young backs on the roster, second-year player P.J. Hill and rookie Chris Ivory.
