1986 Gonzales champions honored before Dixie Youth World Series game

The 1986 Gonzales 11-12 year olds team poses for photos before the Gonzales Americans’ first game Saturday night at Berthelot Field. The 1986 team won the Louisiana state championship and placed third in the Dixie Youth World Series in Decatur, Alabama.

Prior to the Gonzales Americans’ first game Saturday night at Berthelot Field, the 1986 Gonzales 11-12 year olds team was recognized on the field.

The Louisiana state champions finished third in the Dixie Youth World Series that year in Decatur, Alabama.

The team included:?Kole Ambeau, Brett Amedee, Brady Bell, Troy Bourgeois, Tully Bourque, Brandon Brown, Daryl Coleman, Brian Dupuy, Darby Lambert, Corey Lewis, Andy Webb, Reggie Wheat and Jason Williams. Red Loupe was the manager. Johnny Berthelot and Dane Girouard were assistants.
