Red Stick Sports 14U 007s '96 takes tournament titles

The Red Stick Sports 14U 007s ‘96 from Gonzales won the National Softball Association State Tournament in Walker.
The team also took the Magnolia Classic in Gulfport, Mississippi. The team hit the field at 7 a.m. to warm up for the 8 a.m. game, and by 8 p.m., they received their first-place trophies. After falling into the loser’s bracket, the team had to play seven straight games and a two-inning sudden-death championship the following day to win the competitive 14U bracket in the Magnolia Classic. Despite the 110-degree heat index, the girls pulled through to win.
The 007s also traveled to Mobile, Alabama to play in the Gulf South State Tournament in June. They competed against 28 teams from Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida and Alabama. They took a fourth-place finish.
The next weekend, they traveled to Alexandria for the United States Fastpitch Assocation Louisiana State Tournament. They finished second among 34 team, as they lost late Sunday night by one run.
The team also made a trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee for the NSA World Series.
