St. Amant kicker Justin Manton chooses University of Louisiana-Monroe

St. Amant kicker Justin Manton has already etched himself in local sports folklore.
Last season, Manton broke a school record when he hit a 54-yard field goal against Bonnabel, an impressive feat considering that even professional kickers struggle to connect from such a distance.
Manton also connected on multiple 40-plus yard attempts last year. He was an efficient 46 of 47 on extra-point tries.
After handling the kicking duties at St. Amant, Manton is set to move on to the next level at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
Manton, who earned All-Metro honors last season, made a commitment June 16 to kick for the Warhawks after he concludes his high school career with the Gators.
Aside from football, the 6-foot, 190-pound Manton is a starting guard on the St. Amant basketball team, and a left-handed pitcher and infielder on the baseball team.
