Ascension stars given all-metro team honors

The three Ascension Parish Class 5A teams were well-represented on the 2010 All-Metro Baseball Team, headlined by Dutchtown standout Britt Gautreaux taking Outstanding Player honors.

Gautreaux led parish players on the team, which pulled from area Class 4A and 5A squads. The Griffin senior helped lead his team to the Class 5A semifinals earlier this year.

A pair of his Dutchtown teammates also made the team:?senior pitcher Jesse Buratt and sophomore infielder Troy Lewis.

East Ascension sophomore Chris Sanchez was a utility selection, while Jack Cockrum and Alec Singletary were chosen as honorable mentions.

St. Amant also had a host of players make the cut, including senior pitcher Dylan Delaune, senior catcher Lee Elisar, senior utility Dillon Morin and sophomore utility Tyler Guillory.
