The New Orleans Saints have released defensive end Bobby McCray, according to general manager Mickey Loomis.

McCray, a six-year veteran, played two seasons with the Saints. He started eight of 32 games and made 59 tackles with seven and 1/2 sacks, three pass defenses and a forced fumble.

The 28-year-old Florida product also started three Saints postseasn games last season, tallying nine tackles. He began his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Saints also waived cornerback Glenn Sharpe, a first-year player signed to the practice squad in January.
