Dutchtown’s Chelsea Cruthirds, Ricky Lawrence honored by ESPN RISE

Dutchtown’s Rickey Lawrence, shown controlling the ball against St. Amant, has been named to the LHSSCA Boys Soccer All State Team for the 2009-10 season.

Dutchtown soccer standouts Ricky Lawrence and Chelsea Cruthirds made the ESPN RISE top players list for Louisiana.

The list is a compilation of state-by-state players from the winter season, compiled by ESPN RISE based on recommendations from coaches and media members.

Cruthirds  will move on to Southern Miss, while Lawrence will head to Central Florida.

The top boys from Louisiana included:

• Junior MF Stephen Cabos (Jesuit)

• Senior GK Joe Hart (Jesuit)

• Senior F Will Monsour (Captain Shreve)

• Senior D Dylan Persson (Fontainebleau)

• Junior F Conner Randel (Captain Shreve)

• Senior D Jordan Schwarz (Jesuit)

The top state girls included:

• Senior F Danielle Beatty (St. Scholastica)

• Senior F Emily Cancienne (Baton Rouge)

• Senior MF Yanci Johnson (Natchitoches Central)

• Senior F Danielle Murphy (St. Thomas More)

Dutchtown’s Chelsea Cruthirds returns for her senior season after earning district MVP honors for the second consecutive season a year ago scoring 44 goals and adding 13 assists.
