Dutchtown wrestlers named to National High School Coaches Association All-Academic Team

EASTON, Pa. – Austin Gravelle and Zack Hill, both Dutchtown High wrestlers, were 2010 All-Academic Team selections by the National High School Coaches Association.

Austin Gravelle finished 38-8 and fifth in Division 1 state tournament at 135 pounds for coach Rodney Sutherland at Dutchtown, a two-time state placewinner. His career record is 109-44. He has earned a 3.52 GPA.

Zack Hill was Division 1 state runnerup with 36-10 record at 285 pounds for Sutherland. His career record is 51-20. He has earned a 3.42 GPA.

It is the 17th year the NHSCA has honored these achievers in the classroom. The 118 selections for 2010 include 64 seniors, 28 juniors, 22 sophomores and four freshmen, and come from a record 39 states. They sport an average grade-point average (GPA) of 3.77 on a scale of 4.0, with 26 members of the team earning a GPA of 4.0 or better. Eight members of the squad – two seniors, four juniors, one sophomore and one freshman – rank No. 1 in their class academically. S

“The members of this year’s All-Academic Team define what it means to be a student-athlete today,” NHSCA executive director Bob Ferraro Jr. said. “They are leaders both on the field and in the classroom, and we are proud to be honoring them.”
