Waguespack, Gravelle claim Catholic Invitational championship titles

RIGHT: Dutchtown’s Austin?Gravelle claimed the Catholic Invitational by defeating Catholic’s Collin Durett in the championship finals of the 135-pound weight class.

BATON?ROUGE – East Ascension’s Austen Waguespack and Dutchtown’s Austin?Gravelle each won championship final titles at the Catholic Invitational wrestling meet this weekend.

Waguespack won his second straight title by defeating Comeaux’s Dylan Ortego in the 112-pound championship finals. Waguespack also won the Spartan Invitational during Thanksgiving week.

Gravelle defeated Catholic’s Collin Durrett in the championship finals of the 135-pound weight class. Gravelle previously won the consolation finals of the Griffin?Open.

East Ascension’s Thomas Turner lost to Jesuit’s Chris Johnson in the 135-pound consolation finals.
