The 007’s 10-year-old and under and fast pitch softball team won the USFA Fall Shoot Out held Nov. 7 and Nov. 8 in Lake Charles. The tournament was a United States Fastpitch Association qualifier with teams from Louisiana and Texas competing. Losses in the early round forced the 007’s to the losers bracket, where they battled back to make it to the championship game. The team defeated Moss Bluff, 6-4 in the final game. The 007’s completed the fall season 18-2 and won each of the three tournaments in which they competed. The team outscored their opponents 158-38. “The girls plan on using the off-season to continue honing their skills and building team chemistry so as to continue their winning ways on the tournament trail in the upcoming spring and summer,” she said. Mike Miller is the head coach, B.J. Romano serves as assistant coach and Anthony Giovingo is the team statistician.
