The members of the Ascension Parish 4-H Shooting Club stepped away from the shooting range recently to plant a tree at a local business. The club members planted an oak tree donated by Clark Stafford at the Gonzales Cabela’s store. The dirt, mulch and other items needed for the planting were donated by Carrie Brown. The tree was named in honor of the club.The tree-planting was part of the group’s continuing conservation efforts, according to a news release from Carrie Brown.For more information, contact the local 4-H office at 225-621-5799.
