Pelican Point golfers raise funds for cure

The Pelican Point Golf Club hosted its second annual “Rally for the Cure” Golf Tournament on July 16.
In addition to helping raise funds for the fight against breast cancer, the event was designed to spread the word about awareness and early detection which are keys in fighting breast cancer, according to a news release from the event organizers.
Based on the involvement from tournament sponsors and player participation, Pelican Point was able to donate more than $5,000 to the local Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure.
Taking first place for their gross score were Steve Jester, Matt Chamberlain, Jimmy Wilson and Dr. Mike Lee. The net score winners were David Jones, Pam Cagnalotti, Marylee Hix and Gwen Bedell.
The Spirit Award went to the members of the Royal Lakes Subdivision team.
