Parent no-hits Vandebilt Catholic in Lady Gators’ regular season finale

HOUMA - St. Amant closed out the regular season with a 5-0 shutout victory over Vandebilt Catholic Thursday afternoon.

Aime Parent got the win on the mound throwing a no-hitter over seven innings for the complete game win while striking out two and walking none.

Saidre LeMaire took the loss giving up five runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out five over seven innings.

Kandace Boudreaux led the hit attack for St. Amant with a grand slam home run, while Bridget Buquoi was 2 for 2 with one run and one RBI and Emily Douglas was 2 for 4 with one run.

Douglas singled with one out in the first inning and Buquoi drew a walk before Melanie?Parker singled to left center to load the bases. Boudreaux then took LeMaire’s offering over the left field fence to put the Lady Gators ahead 4-0.

The Lady Gators added a run in the fifth inning when Kelly Luquette led off with a double to left and scored on Buquoi’s single to right center.

St. Amant threatened once more in the seventh inning when Douglas singled to left center and Buquoi drew a walk but they were left stranded.

Vandebilt Catholic did have two base runners. LeMaire reached on an error to lead off the bottom of the third and Alain Guidry reached on an error with one out in the bottom of the fourth but both were left stranded.
