St. Amant girls,?Dutchtown boys take prep tennis matches
St. Amant’s girls lost two doubles matches in three sets but still defeated Dutchtown, 3-2 in Prep Tennis League play at Gonzales Muncipal Park Monday afternoon.
The Griffins got two singles victories to defeat St. Amant, 2-1, in boys’ play.
Emily Richard set the tone for the?Lady Gators defeating McCall Blank 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 1 singles spot. St. Amant’s Grant Blanchard also won in straight sets over Arden Ritchie 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2.
Tess McGraw and Christine Johnson gave the Lady Griffins a win in three sets over Nadja Debe and Bristol Parish 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 in the top seed for doubles. Chelbi Liotto and Courtney Aucoin assured victory for St. Amant with a 6-1, 8-6 victory over Brandi Stafford and Libby Carlino in the No. 2 spot. Dutchtown’s Lexie Breaux and Tana Bourgeois defeated Anna Hernandez and Kaylie Dinning 6-6, 3-7, 6-1 in the three hole.
Dutchtown’s Blake Cowart defeated Matt Blanchard 6-0, 6-1 in the boys’ top seeded match. Daniel Adler assured the Griffins’ victory with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Cody Lowery in the No. 2 spot.
St. Amant’s John McGoldrick and Taylor Lattanzi defeated Stefan Sayers and Sam Schwartz 6-4, 6-2 in the only boys’ doubles match.
