Molley’s TawKwonDo Plus competes in 2009 Louisiana Governor’s Games

Molley’s TawKwonDo Plus recently sent 90 students from their Gonzales club to particiap in the first event of the 2009 Louisiana Governor’s Games at Family Christian Acadamy March 14.

Molley’s TaeKwonDo Plus of Gonzales sent 90 of their finest students to compete in the first event of the 2009 Louisiana Governor’s Games held at the Family Christian Academy Gym in Baton Rouge March 14.

Molley’s TaeKwonDo Plus is a member academy in The International Taekwondo Alliance (ITA). The ITA Regional Championship Tournament was chosen to kick off the 2009 Louisiana Governor’s Games promoted by Governor Bobby Jindal.

Former LSU and professional basketball star Rudy Macklin is the director of the games and made an appearance at the tournament. Over 600 competitors from South Louisiana and Southern Mississippi competed in the event and ranged in ages from 4 to 60.

The Martial Artists competed in traditional forms, free-style forms, extreme forms, and sparring competitions. Gold, silver, and bronze medals were awarded for the various events. All competitors received t-shirts and winning competitors received an additional medal from the governor.

Molley’s TaeKwonDo Plus is owned and operated by the Molley family; Senior 4th degree black belt – Veronica Molley, 3rd degree black belt – David Molley, and 4th degree black belt – Jonathan Molley. 

The Molley’s have over 200 students at their La. 30 location. The tournament was a huge success with the 90 Gonzales students bringing home over 200 medals.

The Molley’s would like to thank Governor Bobby Jindal for promoting the 2009 Louisiana Games and inviting the ITA to participate. The Molley’s would also like to thank their Taekwondo instructor, Senior Master Joel Neely of Baton Rouge for organizing the event.
