Lady Spartans knock off Destrehan in district play

DESTREHAN - East Ascension rebounded from consecutive district losses to defeat Destrehan 6-0 in District 6-5A play Thursday afternoon.

Chelsea LeBlanc dominated Destrehan batters from the onset to pick up the win allowing just one hit over seven innings while striking out 13.

East Ascension (10-8, 2-2) scattered 10 hits to pick up the win.

Brooke Courville was 3 for 3 with one run for East Asccnsion while Jade St. Pierre was 2 for 3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs, Olivia Maher was 1 for 2 with a double, RBI and run, Evan Babin was 1 for 4 with one RBI, Tiffany Robinson was 1 for 4 with one run and Rachel LeCoq was 1 for 4 with one run.

Diana Harvey took the loss for Destrehan (6-9, 1-3).

The Lady Spartans scored one run in both the third and fourth innings and added two runs in each the fifth and seventh innings for the victory.

Destrehan’s only base runner was thrown out attempting to steal second base by catcher  Robinson.
