Dutchtown wins three of four in Ouachita Tourney
MONROE - Dutchtown won three of four at the Ouachita Tournament this weekend to push their overall record to 13-3-2.
The Griffins opened the tournament Thursday with a 8-4 victory over Ruston. Chris Boutwell picked up the win on the mound in two 1/3 innings of releif. Alex Millet was 3 for 4 with a triple, three RBIs and two runs while Damon Scanlan was 2 for 4 with two runs and a stolen base.
Dutchtown then took a 4-3 decision over defending Class 5A state champion Barbe Friday. Boutwell picked up the win in three and 2/3 innings of releif striking out three. Millet was 2 for 3 while Scanlan was 1 for 2 with a double and one RBI.
The Griffins then defeated West Monroe 7-5 Saturday. Garrette Rayburn picked up the win in three innings of releif while Buratt got his third consecutive save. Dillon Day was 2 for 4 with two home runs, three RBIs and two runs, while Millet was 3 for 4 with two doubles and one run, Troy Lewis was 1 for 3 with a double and RBI and Matt Willis was 1 for 3 with a double and two runs.
Dutchtown ended the weekend with a 9-6 loss to Warren Central Saturday. Wesley Perkins took the loss giving up seven runs on seven hits. Day was 3 for 3 with two doubles and a triple scoring three runs with an RBI, while John Lambert was 1 for 2 with a double and Lewis was 1 for 1 with a double.
