Dutchtown’s Reid commits to LSU?
BATON?ROUGE - Dutchtown’s Eric Reid committed to LSU Thursday after watching the Tigers’ practice.
Reid, a defensive back with a 4.4 grade point average and 4.5 speed in the 40-yard dash choose LSU over a growing list of college scholarship offers.
Reid’s committment bumped LSU’s class of 2010 to six joining four others from Louisiana in Eunice athlete Therald Simon, Many tight end Nic Jacobs and Notre Dame-Crowley linebacker D.J. Welter.
Reid’s father is a former LSU track All-American in the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame and remains a fixture on campus as an administrator in the university’s department of parking, traffic and transportation.
Reid made four unofficial visits to LSU last fall and attended academic junior day Jan. 31.
Reid also has offers from Georgia, Minnesota, North Carolina State, Stanford, Tennessee and Tulane.
