Dutchtown boys claim Duck Roost Relays

ST. AMANT - Dutchtown’s Effrem Reed was shot out of a cannon passing East Ascension’s DeAndre Jacobs on the final leg of the 400 meter relay and helping catapult the Griffins to the boys’ title at the Pit Stop Exxon Duck Roost Relays at A.E. Attaya Memorial Field Saturday afternoon.

Dutchtown defeated East Ascension 161-140. Host St. Amant was third with 104 points, followed by Lutcher with 80, Baker with 31 and Albany with 21.

Lutcher defeated Dutchtown 121-111 for the girls’ title. St. Amant placed second with 97 points followed by East Ascension with 86 points. Jesuit was fifth with 83 points, while Albany had 34 points and Baker had 26.

Reed, who also won the 100 meter dash, joined with Thaddeus Godfrey, Leonard Wyatt and Jonathan Darville to cross in 44.11 ahead of East Ascension’s Jacobs, JarMarcus Jarvis, Justin Pelle and Q’Dareus Lomas’ time of 44.54. St. Amant’s Wayne Douglas, Tre` Vaughn, Jay Gipson and Grady Miles was third in 45.51.

Douglas won two events for St. Amant taking the long jump and triple jump with leaps of 22-1 and 46-2. He also placed second in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.47

Reed won the 100 in 10.83 to defeat Jacobs’ time of 10.88. Wyatt was third crossing in 11.11, while Miles placed fourth in 11.12.

Dutchtown’s Shaquille Brown won the 800 meter run in 2:00.56, while teammate Blake Dowdy was third in 2:05.47 and St. Amant’s Bryce Merchant was fifth in 2:22.72.

Dutchtown’s Jeff Boudreaux won the 1600 meter run in 4:40.38, while East Ascension Dillan Truax was third in 5:01.44 and Chris Thompson of Dutchtown took fifth in 5:12.44.

Boudreaux, Brown, Dowdy and R.J. Neal won the 1600 meter relay for Dutchtown in 3:34.04, while St. Amant placed third in 3:52.90.

East Ascension’s Lane Braud won the 300 meter hurdles in 41:38 and took third in the 110 meter hurdles crossing in 15:73. Braud also placed second in the triple jump clearing 43-01 and third in the long jump with a leap of 20-06.

Dutchtown’s Richard Buckland won the discus event with a throw of 141-3. St. Amant’s Colten Allen and Chase Hitchcock placed third and fourth with throws of 127 and 120-10, while East Ascension Wade Julien and Heston Raven were fifth and sixth with heaves of 119-02 and 113-10.

Dutchtown’s Todd Purser and Nick Madere placed second and third in the pole vault clearing 11-6 and 10-6, while St. Amant’s Kenny Matherne and Collins were fifth and sixth with vaults of 8-6.

Dutchtown placed second in the 800 meter relay with a time of 1:35.69, while St. Amant was third in 1:36.70 and East Ascension was fourth in 1:36.81.

St. Amant’s Marvin Martin placed second in the shot put with a throw of 45-08 ahead of Dutchtown’s Grant Medine and Shawn Cook who threw 45-08 and 44-03.

East Ascension’s Damon Banner was second in the 400 meter dash crossing in 55.63. Teammate Ryan Moll was fifth in 56.47.

St. Amant’s Chase Keller placed second in the high jump with a lead of 6-0.

Pelle placed third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.09. Dutchtown’s Bryan Broussard was sixth in 23.63.

East Ascension’s Trey Griggs placed third in the javelin with a throw of 159-07, while Dutchtown’s Madison Rought and Devon Bercegeay were fourth and fifth with heaves of 148-08 and 140-09.

St. Amant’s Jude Collins placed fourth in the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:27.94.

Nick Landry of East Ascension placed fourth in the 300 meter hurdles in 44.15 while St. Amant’s Thomas Bourgeois was fifth in 44.24.

Darville took sixth in the long jump with a leap of 18-09 and Wyatt also placed sixth in the triple jump leaping 37-09.

Dutchtown’s April Tasker was the only individual to win three events winning the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, the 100 hurdles in 15:41 and the 300 meter hurdles in 47.09.

East Ascension’s Jasmine Briley won two events claiming the 100 meter dash in 12 seconds and the 200 meter dash in 26.84.

East Ascension’s Lynnika Pitts took home two titles in the high jump and triple jump with leaps of 5-2 and 38-11 1/2.

Dutchtown’s Shelby Jones also claimed two events winning the 800 meter run in 2:37.66 and the 3200 meter run in 11:56.36.

East Ascension’s relay team of Briley, Brianca Bougere, Byra Cushenberry and Brnae Davis won the 400 meter relay in 50.72 ahead of Dutchtown’s Ka’Neisha Cobbins, Theresa Kaaihue, Gabby Reynolds and Emily Rezac time of 51.64. St. Amant was fifth in 57.31. The Lady Spartans also placed second in the 800 relay in 1:49.75 while St. Amant was fourth in 2:07.76.

East Ascension’s 1600 relay team consisting of Tracey Johnson, Shantanacia Maxon, Myriah Kinchen and Brittany Norwood won in 4:33.40, while St. Amant’s team of Jyra Cassie, Bria  Turner, Amanda Jackson and Kaitlyn McClure was third in 4:40.32 and Dutchtown’s team of Kayla Cobb, Rachel Jimenez, Brooke Bahlinger and Rezac placed fourth in 4:41.81.

East Ascension’s Marissa Sanchez won the 1600 meter run in 5:58.49 defeating  Bahlinger and Rezac’s times of 6:03 and 6:05.59. East Ascension’s Amanda Gibbs placed fifth in 6:39.93 and St. Amant’s Lexie Stone was sixth in 6:54.08. Sanchez also placed second in the 3200 meter run win 12:59.39, while St. Amant’s Samantha Faulkker was third in 15:06.36 and Gibbs took fourth in 15:23.27.

Dutchtown’s Brittany Lacy won the shot put with a throw of 35-08. St. Amant’s Elena Villar placed second with a throw of 31-03, while Dutchtown’s Paige Pruet was fourth and St. Amant’s Sami Marchard placed fifth.

Dutchtown’s Maureen Gross won the discuss with a throw of 112-06. East Ascension’s Alexis Ruth placed second with a throw of 109-5 1/2, while St. Amant’s Kristina Kling and Villar placed fourth and fifth.

St. Amant’s Joleigh Hartman won the javelin with a throw of 103-09. St. Amant’s Kelly Martinez was fourth and Dutchtown’s Ryan Hamilton and Haley Madere were fourth and fifth.

St. Amant’s Kayln Acy took second in the high jump with a leap of 5-0. Dutchtown’s Jodi Hill and Alyncia Arthur were fourth and sixth with jumps of 4-8 and 4-4.

Jackson placed second in the 400 meter dash crossing in 1:06.03 ahead of East Ascension’s Norwood, Arthur and Maxon.

Tasker also placed second in the triple jump with a lead of 38-04, while Cushenberry was third followed by Acy, Batiste and Ruth.

Cobbins placed second in the 100 meter dash crossing in 12.09, while East Ascension’s Nakiya Smith was third in 12.68 and Dutchtown’s Kelby Bell placed sixth in 13.09.

Smith also placed second in the 200 meter dash crossing in 26.84, while St. Amant’s Jessica Lodge and Claudia Cann were fifth and sixth in 30.69 and 31.73.

St. Amant’s Shelbi Guillory placed second in the pole vault clearing 7-0, while Dutchtown’s Michelle Landry and St. Amant’s Samantha Shinn each cleared 6-6.

St. Amant’s Lara Hutchinson placed second in the 800 meter run in 2:47.10 ahead of teammate Brittnee Lambert’s time of 2:49 and East Ascension’s Myriah Kinchen’s time of 2:49.86.

Baptiste was second in the 300 meter hurdles crossing in 50:46, while St. Amant’s Shelbi Guillory placed second in the pole vault clearing 7-0 ahead of Dutchtown’s Michelle Landry and St. Amant’s Samantha Shinn who each cleared 6-6.
