Gators’ fourth quarter surge upends ESJ

ST.?AMANT - St. Amant exploded for 34 fourth quarter points outscoring East St. John by 21 in the frame for a 70-50 District 6-5A victory Fridy night.

The victory moves the Gators (20-8, 3-3) into a tie with Destrehan for third place in district.

East St. John (15-13, 4-2) took a 12-10 going into the second quarter before the teams each scored seven points in the frame. St. Amant cut it to 36-35 going into the fourth quarter.

Brandon Morris led all scorers with 24 points for St. Amant. Rashaun Claiborne added 18, while Steve Fulkerson and Bruce Mathison each had 10 and Nick Morris provided six.

East St. John was led by Keith Cameron with 18 points. Kalen Henderson added 10, while Malcolm Lago provided sevena nd Anthony Dawson had four.

Brandon Morris hit two 3-pointers for the Gators.
