Landon Gauthier, third from left, shot this 37-pound red drum with a bow and arrow recently on a bow hunting trip with former Lieutenat Governor Paul Hardy, trail attorney David Groner of New Iberia and his father, Andre Gauthier of Gonzales.  The quartet was fishing on Bayou Dularge with Airboat Charters Capt. John Verret when the bull red was first spotted in a marsh pond in the clear, calm waters. Verret expertly followed the redfish and tracked him off and on for almost an hour.  After several missed shots at the drum, the fish charged the boat and was taken by Gauthier, who is a junior at East Ascension High School, where he maintains a 4.0 grade point average and is on the football and baseball team. It is believed to be a world record for a redfish taken with a bow.
