Dutchtown drops ESJ, Hahnville in district play

GEISMAR - Dutchtown (11-13, 6-2) took Division 4-I contests this week defeating East St. John and Hahnville to move into a second place tie with St. Amant (14-15, 6-2).

Dutchtown swept East St. John Monday 25-22, 27-25, 25-18.

Haley Burns led the Lady Griffins with four kills and five aces, while Brooke Bahlinger added four kills, Haley Bain added five assists, Justine Tureau and Shamarea Jones each had seven digs and Rachael Pickens had two blocks.

Dutchtown defeated Hahnville (7-13, 4-4) 25-18, 25-11, 20-25, 25-17 Wednesday.

Burns had seven kills, five aces and five blocks, while Bain added 16 assists, Chelsea Magee had six kills and 15 digs, Bahlinger had 11 digs, Tureau had 10 digs and Pickens had five blocks.

Ana Gauthier led Hahnville with seven kills, while Jasmine Hill had seven aces and nine digs, while Tamara Celistan had four blocks and Elise DeBinker provided 19 assists.

Destrehan sits atop district standing with a 6-1 district mark, while East Ascension and East St. John pull up the rear.
