OUR OPINION: Get ready, Ascension
Something horrible is coming to Ascension Parish.
And, everyone is invited to see it.
A giant, alien flesh-eating plant is about to run amok on the stage of the historic Pasqua Theater.
“Little Shop of Horrors,” the classic comedy musical based on director Roger Corman’s cult movie, is coming to Gonzales and the Ascension Community Theatre.
It’s the opening offering of the 2010 season, and promises to be one of the best kickoff musicals for the talent-laden hometown theatre group.
If you’re a regular fan of ACT, you know that is saying a lot.
ACT has a remarkable ability to capture the attention of area theatergoers on opening night and sustain the excitement throughout the season.
This year “Little Shop” will be followed by the musical fable “Gypsy,” based on the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee, and “Driving Miss Daisy.”
But back to the night of comedic horror. “Little Shop of Horrors” runs Feb. 25-28, and March 4-6.
You can reserve tickets by calling 225-647-1230.
If you’ve been following ACT shows, we don’t have to tell you that the little theatre in the historic building has a great night of fun in store far you.
But, if you’ve never seen an ACT show, let us be the first to say that you’re missing out on one of the jewels in the Ascension Parish crown.
We suggest you take in a show this year and acquaint yourself with some of great local talent and entertainment the area has to offer.
