I give thanks to thee O Lord
If God has been good to you, which He has, I believe we should come into agreement to give Him THANKS. The Psalmist David sang this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of King Saul. We have the liberty to sing Psalm 18 because God has also delivered us from our enemies. Jesus death on Calvary’s Cross gave us access to rejoice and be exceedingly glad for His loving kindness toward us.
The Psalmist declares, “I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies. Therefore will I GIVE THANKS UNTO THEE, O LORD among the heathen: and sing praises unto thy NAME.” (Psalm 18:1-3, 49) NIV, KJ
Whatever circumstance God allows, be confident that He will bring you out with strength and power to declare your victory. He is your bridge over troubled waters and the only way to successfully cross over is to know Him as your personal Savior. The Cross is the only divine source of connection from earth to heaven. The BLOOD of JESUS is your assurance of ever completing the assignment God started on Calvary. Trusting God and thanking Him through the good and the bad, by FAITH, is the only action that is solid enough to hold you securely in an ever-changing world.
“I GIVE THEE THANKS O LORD,” for today I know your WORD is true and I realize nothing is greater than having you as OUR Father. You are a friend that sticks closer than a brother that is why I find peace in you. Ask the Lord to help you to extend this sanctified life which He has called you into, to a friend who may not have totally committed their life to Christ. Every day is a day of Thanksgiving. Christians should never take an opportunity to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ for granted.
“I Give THEE THANKS O LORD,” with my whole heart because praising your wonderful name for the very breathe of life teaches us to appreciate your LOVE for all mankind. Your Holy Spirit is real and without your guidance, where would we be? Your dwelling place is where we must be found each day as you, “Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.” (Psalm 90:14)NIV
