Hebert, Marguerite Peytavin

Marguerite Peytavin Hebert, age 89, died peacefully at her home in Loranger LA at 5:42AM on February 14, 2015 surrounded by loving family members. She was born in Union, LA on October 8, 1925, and was raised on "Ancient Domain," the family plantation. Marguerite was a graduate of Romeville High School in 1942, and attended Soule Business College in New Orleans, LA. She married her beloved husband of fifty-three years, Russel Andrew Hebert on November 29, 1945, and laid Russel to rest on December 11, 1998. Marguerite was an employee of Shell Oil Company, Norco, LA, and later, the proud owner of "In Stitches Needlework Shop" for seven years. She was talented in crocheting, flower arranging, and crafts, as well as teaching needlework classes. Another of her joys was facilitating prayer groups in her home(s). During her adult life she resided in Norco, Gonzales and Loranger, LA. Marguerite was a beloved mother to and is survived by her eleven children, JoAnn H. Bonura (Nickey), Brenda H. Perret (Edward), Gary "Rookie" (Yvonne), Glenn (Rhonda), Robert, Larry "Peabody" (Susan), Sharon H. Carmouche (Marcel "Pie"), Julie H. Creed (Ricky), John (Angelina), James (Karen) and Debra H Gaudin. She was a beloved grandmother to and survived by twenty-four grandchildren, and six step-grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, five step-great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Marie P. Waguespack and numerous nieces and nephews. Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, Russel Andrew Hebert; her parents, Ludger George Peytavin and Carmelite LeBesque Peytavin; her brother, John L. Peytavin; and her grandson, Garett M. Hebert. Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 18, 2015 at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, LA. from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Thursday February 19, 2015 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant, LA. from 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am celebrated by Rev. Michael Galea and concelebrated by Rev. Howard Adkins and Rev. Cayet Mangiaracina, O.P.. Entombment will follow in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery Mausoleum.
