Gonzales Weekly Citizen

Burns, Paul Alan

A resident of Prairieville he passed away at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge on Thursday, November 21, 2013. He was 48 and a 25 year Ford employee. He was currently the Senior Master Technician at All Star Ford, Prairieville. Burial in New Red Oak Cemetery in Livingston.

Cedotal, Helen Merle Johnson

She was a native of Brittany and a resident of Gonzales. She passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013 at the age of 92. Burial in St. Amant Baptist Church Cemetery. She was a life long member and Sunday school teacher of First Baptist Church in Gonzales.

Gregoire, Joseph Lee

A native of Head of Island and resident of Gonzales, he passed away early Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the Chateau D'Ville Retirement Home in Donaldsonville. He was 88. He retired after 32 years of service as a Potroom Foreman with Kaiser Aluminum. He also served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Burial in Maurepas Community Cemetery.

Hebert, Mildred

A native of Donaldsonville and resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Hospital. She was 85 and a homemaker. Interment in Port Hudson Cemetery, Port Hudson.

Larks, Gwendolyn Denise "Niecey"

She passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013. Burial in Mount Gillion Baptist Church cemetery.

Oschwald, Ray Joseph

He passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2013. He was 89 and a native and resident of Donaldsonville. He graduated from Ascension Catholic High School in 1942 and was inducted into the ACHS Alumni Hall of Distinction in 1994. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Naval 25th Construction Battalion (Seabees). He received a Doctorate of Pharmacy from Loyola University. He owned and operated Oschwald's Pharmacy in Donaldsonville. He was a Jr. Vice Commander as well as Post Commander of local VFW 3766, a lifelong member of the American Legion Post 98, Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 52 and the Exulted Ruler of the Donaldsonville ELKS Lodge. Interment in Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church church cemetery.

Prosperie, Mamie Parr

Miss Mamie left this world on Tuesday November 19, 2013 after a brief illness. She was the last surviving child of Jules and Orene B. Parr. She was preceded in death 5 Brothers- Lucien, O’neal, Dennis, Herman and Infant J. P., 4 Sisters-Bessie, Bella, Mae and Ruth. She is survived by numerous nieces , nephews, friends and neighbors. Graveside services were held on Thursday November 21, at 2 p.m. at the Hope Haven Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gonzales, La. . Stephens, Pastor Matthew L.

He passed award on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 71. He was a resident of Geismar and attended Prairieville High School. He joined the US Army and later enlisted in the US Army Reserve. After receiving an honorable discharge, he later attended Delgado Community College and Southern University. He chartered and served as Pastor/Founder of Word of Faith Outreach Ministries, Inc. in Gonzales, which later became known as Word of Faith International Ministries, Inc. He along with his wife developed Stephens Estates Subdivision which is located in Geismar. He was employed at Gillis W. Long Hansen Disease Center as an Accountable Area Property Manager and retired after 36+ years of service in 1999. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Baton Rouge.

Thompson, Elton Glynn

A retired electrical engineer with Dow Chemical USA, a native of McCall and a resident of Prairieville, he died on Wednesday, November 13, 2013. He was 62 and a United States Interment in Protestant Cemetery.

Vallery, Ronnie Thaddeus

Ronnie Thaddeus Vallery a 66 year old native of Darrow. passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013 at his home in Darrow, La. Ronnie Vallery was born on January 24, 1947 in Darrow. As a young man he started working as a Bag Boy for Payless Supermarket and later in life became a very successful and skillful Truck driver and Businessman owning his own company Ronnie Vallery Trucking Co., LLC. He was survived by 4 children, Thaddeus (Tiffany) Vallery, Sr. (Prairieville), Terry (Felicia) Vallery, Sr. (Gonzales), Yolanda (Marvin) Brown (Darrow) and Lorenzo (Cassandra) Rogers (New Orleans); 10 grandchildren, Jaslyn, Thaddeus Jr., Terry Jr., London, Marvin Jr., Brenden, Bryce, Ire’, Reo’ and Zoe; 9 sisters, Eloise ( Baton Rouge), Rosemary, Romain, Renata, Rhonda, Rylana, Rochelle, Rosalind and Robin (California); 3 brothers, Mack Graves Sr., Dale Cornish (Darrow) and Raynard Vallery (California), 1 uncle and aunt Cornelius and Leotha Morris (Head of Island), 4 brother in laws and 5 sister in laws and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends. Ronnie Vallery was preceded in death by his wife Dianne V. Vallery, mother Mabel Vallery and Clothilde Graves, Fathers, Joseph H. Graves and Johnny Vallery; a mother and father in law, Fannie Mae Valentine and Oscar John Valentine, two brothers, Joseph H. Graves, Jr. and Claude Graves, Sr. and three sister in laws, Laura Graves, Sheila Graves and Fannie Mae Hines. Interment will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in Darrow.

Williams, Earthalene

An Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System Correctional Officer, she passed away at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013. She was a resident of Gonzales. She was 85 and a native of Ethel. Interment in Mt. Hope Baptist Church cemetery, Clinton. The Pride of Mt. Zion Chapter 120 O.E.S (Order of the Eastern Star) Church Mother of the Mt. Hope Baptist Church and a active member of Ascension Council of Aging.

Williams Sr., Joseph L.

A machine operator, a native and resident of Donaldsonville, he died on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. He was 55. Visitation was held at Demby & Son Funeral Home in Donaldsonville, on Monday, November 25. Cremation immediately followed.
