Charpentier, Evelyn Blanchard "Toot"

A native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Gonzales, she died at 1:53 a.m. on Tuesday Oct. 15, 2013. She was 86. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. She worked at Indian Ridge Canning Company and Sportsman's Paradise. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Crawford, Victorine Elizabeth “Boots”

A retired guard for Hunts Correctional Center, she passed away at 5:57 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at her home in Gonzales. She was 84 and a native of Eudora, Ark. Services were held LDS Church, Hwy. 30.

Henry, Charles

A retired brick layer with 50 years of service and a resident of Gonzales, he passed away Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at St. Helena Nursing Home. He was 84 and a native of Napoleonville. Interment in St. Paul Baptist Church cemetery.

Jacob, Hubert Mark

A native and resident of Donaldsonville. He died at 3 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013. He was 80. Entombment in Ascension Catholic Church Cemetery.

Judice, Gloria Templet

A native of Donaldsonville and a resident of Plaquemine. She was a homemaker and passed away Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 at The Care Center in Baton Rouge at the age of 79. Interment Grace Memorial Park.

Lambert, Mary Grace Parent

A native of Ponchatoula, St. Amant, and a resident of Sorrento, she passed away on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013. She was 81. Arrangements by Church Funeral Services & Crematory, St. Amant (225) 644-9683.

O'Neal, Michael Douglas

He passed away on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013 with cancer. Visiting was held at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, Oct. 22, with a Memorial Mass following.

Riley, Geraldine Melaine

A homemaker and a resident of Donaldsonville, she died on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was 58. Interment in Mt. Triumph Baptist Church cemetery.

Scanlan, Ruth Banker

She passed away on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at the age of 85. She was a native and resident of Gonzales, and graduated from Gonzales High as Salutatorian. She attended LSU and graduated from Spencer Business College. In June of 1976 she was elected to EATEL’S Board of Directors and in January of 1994, she became Chairman of the Board. Ruth also served on the Board of Directors of the Ascension Fund and was a long time member of the Louisiana Telephone Association. Ruth was also a former member of the Gonzales Women's Club, Traveling Tigers and Bengal Bells. Ruth also worked a short time in the LSU Chemistry Department until her marriage to the late, Arthur G. "A.G." Scanlan. Ruth was an avid fisherwoman and LSU fan. She loved being outdoors and would even take her boat by herself to get some fishing in whenever she could. She is survived by her daughter, Beryl S. Smith; sons, Arthur G. "Smokey" Scanlan and his wife, Rebecca Gray Scanlan and John David Scanlan and his wife, Terri Adams Scanlan; a brother, Mikeal K. Banker; five grandchildren, Cheryl Lynn Rice, Steven Allen Crowe, Arthur G. Scanlan, III, Jason Paul Scanlan, and Damon Paul Scanlan; two great grandchildren, Aubrey Ines Scanlan and Arthur G. "Brody" Scanlan, IV; three sister in laws, Gladys Scanlan Nevelle, Marie Scanlan Walker, and Evelyn "Bubbie" Braud Banker; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur G. "A.G." Scanlan; parents; infant sister; and brothers, Fred Norris "Mike" Banker, Jr. and Albert "Buck" Banker. Visiting was held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Wednesday, Oct.16, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumed on Thursday at St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Entombment follow edin Hope Haven Mausoleum, Gonzales. Pallbearers were Steven Crowe, Arthur Scanlan, III, Jason, Damon, and Mike Scanlan, Craig Henry, and Lance and Mikeal Banker. Cheryl Rice, Brian, Phillip, Timothy, and Albert Banker Jr, and Patrick Gomez served as honorary pallbearers.

Vidrine, Iris Murlene

She was 69, a former resident of Moss Point, MS and a resident of Gonzales. She had been employed by Mike Andersons of Gonzales for 15 years and had retired and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy Christine (Chris) and Cecil Warren Williams. Survivors include her husband of 41 years of marriage, John Dwain Vidrine; three daughters Shelly Carter and Stacey Boeneke of French Settlement, and Aniece Vidrine of Gonzales; and one son John Dwain Vidrine Jr. of Gonzales. Four sisters Cecilia “Cis” Brooks of Gautier, MS, Sheryl Bloodsworth, of Ocean Springs, MS Cheryl Whitacer of Robertasdale, AL and Cathy Rowe of Hurley, MS. One son-in-law A.E. “Ernie” Boeneke and one daughter-in-law Shanon Lasyone Vidrine. Three grandsons Jacob Andrew Hunsaker, Jessie Dominic Hunsaker and Ransom Parker and one granddaughter Jordyn Vidrine, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. There will be a celebration of her life at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that donations be made to the Cancer Assoc or Heart Association.

Waguespack Sr., Larry P.

A native of Burnside and resident of St. Amant, he passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013. He was 88, a veteran of the US Navy, and a farmer. Burial in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery, Gonzales.
