Braud, Keith Michael "Dude"
A resident of Gonzales and a retired computer technician with Ineos, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was 61 and a native of New Orleans. Burial in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales.
Buratt, Ronnie Wayne
A native of Prairieville, he passed away at his home on Monday, June 3, 2013, after a battle with lung cancer. He was 52. A memorial service was held at The Church in St. Amant, on Thursday, June 13, with services to following.
Delatte, Kevin Michael
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at the age of 57. He was a lifelong resident of Maurepas and was the owner of Kevin’s Cajun Seafood Restaurant for 22 years. Kevin was a member of Carpenters Local Union #1098. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jaynelle Rousseau Delatte of Maurepas; father, Nolan J. Delatte of Maurepas; mother-in-law, Micheline “Mitch” Rousseau of Maurepas; daughters and sons-in-law, Ashley Delatte Punch and Johnny, of Geismar, Meagan Delatte Leteff and Shane, of Gonzales; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna Delatte Bordelon and Jerry, of Gonzales, Lisa Delatte Robbins and Milton, of Gonzales; brothers and a sister-in-law, Randy and Dee Dee Delatte, of Whitehall, Rocky Delatte of St. Amant; and grandchildren, Madison, Kylee, and Parker Punch. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lou Hanna Delatte Babin; father-in-law, Roy Rousseau; maternal grandparents, Ariel and Lena Arceneaux Fontenot; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Esther Brown Delatte; and stepfather, Mervin Babin. There will be a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, Friday, June 21, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Whitehall, Saturday, June 22, from 9 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Jason Palermo and Deacon Jimmy Little. Interment will follow at the Whitehall Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Punch, Shane Leteff, Randy Delatte, Rocky Delatte, Jerry Bordelon, Rohn Bordelon, Devin Bordelon, and Brock Delatte. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff and employees of Kevin’s Cajun Seafood Restaurant. The family would like to thank the first responders, French Settlement Police Department, Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Department, and Acadian Ambulance for their help in our time of need. She was a retired executive housekeeper in Hospitality for 29 years and a resident of Donaldsonville. She passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at her residence in Donaldsonville. She was 76 and a Native of New Orleans. Visiting was held at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Donaldsonville, on Monday, June 17, until religious service at church.
Hurst, Harold H.
A native of Brittany, and resident of Baton Rouge, he passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Hospice of Baton Rouge at 9:30 a.m. He was 67, an Iron Worker and an Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War. Interment at New River Baptist Cemetery, St. Amant.
Lewis, Roy Stuart
He died peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 13, 2013, he was 78. He was a native of Bolivar, and a resident of Ascension Parish for over 47 years. Burial to follow in Oak Lane Memorial Park in Prairieville. He was owner of Gonzales Tire Co., Inc. which was established in June, 1966. He taught Sunday school. In the past several years, he has been a part of a men's Bible Study group, "Band of Brothers."
Melancon, Nora Lee Arceneaux
A native of Sorrento, she died at 6:10 a.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2013. She was 81. Entombment at Hope Haven Cemetery in Gonzales.
Moses, Sam "Buddy"
A retired employee of BASF with over 30 years, a member of Geismar Volunteer Fire Department and Gonzales Jambalaya Festival Association. He passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center. He was 82 and a Native of Centreville, MS. Interment in 1st Pilgrim Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Campus #2.
He passed away on Thursday June 14, 2013. He was 47 and a 1984 graduate of Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge. He was a faithful employee of Williams Olefins in Geismar for 27 years. He loved his job and loved his co-workers even more. Scott never met a stranger and his smile would light up a room. Visiting was held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Tuesday, June 18 until Memorial Services.
Wyatt, Jones Carl
A resident of Geismar and formerly of West Grove, Pennsylvania, he passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013. He was 88 and a native of Crumpler, North Carolina. He was a retired foreman with Lukens Steel Company. He also served his country in the U.S. Army as a Technician 4th grade, Code 5 Sergeant. Burial in New London Presbyterian Cemetery. He was a 50+ year member of the New London Masonic Lodge #545 and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3693.
