Ashton, Dianne "Doris Aim" Weams

Dianne "Doris Aim" Weams Ashton, age 61, of Killian, LA, passed away on the afternoon of Feb. 1, 2013. The funeral service were at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at Bethlehem Baptist Church (27279 Highway 22 Killian, LA 70462). The Rev. Robert E. Smith of Bethlehem Baptist Church officiated the services. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial followed the funeral at the Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were handled by N.A. James Funeral Home of Hammond, LA. Dianne was born in Prairieville, LA on June 8, 1951 to the union of James "Jotto" Weams and the late Della Lomas Weams. She graduated from Kennedy High School in Gonzales, LA. Dianne was married to the Rev. George E. Ashton of Killian, LA on Oct. 9, 1971. They were married for 41 years. Dianne was a faithful member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member of Sunday school, Bible study and served as president of the sisterhood until her departure. She was an inspiration to and loved by all. Diane leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, the Rev. George E. Ashton of Killian LA; four children: Raymond Lewis, LaTonja Ashton, Shantel Ashton Womack (Johnny), and George "Tony" Ashton (Charmaine), all of Killian, LA; her father: James Weams of Galvez, LA; three brothers; James W. Johnson (Rose) of Phenix City, AL, Melvin Weams (Beverly) of Hammond, LA, and Curtis Weams (Sandra) of Galvez, LA; eleven grandchildren: Ramon Moore of Ponchatoula, LA, Gharmaine Ashton, Antonio Ashton, Triston Ashton. Jazmyn Womack, Jaylee Womack, LaTerica Ashton, Christian Carter, Jordan Carter; Jayden Carter, and Kennedi Mason, all of Killian, LA: and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Dianne was preceded in death by her mother, Della Lomas Weams; two brothers: Woodrow Johnson and Lionel Weams; mother-in-law: Rosa Smith Ashton and father-in-law: George "Pop" Ashton; and one brother-in-law Larry Ashton. Braud, Aunnie Lee "Maw Maw"

She passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at the age of 89. She was a native of Prairieville and a resident of Baton Rouge. She was a sales consultant with J.C. Penney for 30 years. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Altar Society. Interment in St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church cemetery.

DeLaune, Brady Kyle

A native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Gonzales he passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 in Gonzales at the age of 21. He was a graduate of I.T.T. Technical Institute with an Associates Degree in Computer Drafting and Design. He also was a member of the National Technical Honor Society. Burial in Oak Lane Memorial Park, Prairieville.

Graham, Linden Patrick "Squeak"

A native of Gonzales and resident of Baton Rouge, he passed on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 at the Hospice of Baton Rouge Butterfly Unit. He was 66 and a retired electrician with IBEW local 995. He served in the US Army Reserve as an E-4 from 1967 to 1971 and in Germany from 1971 to 1973. Burial in Ficklin Cemetery, Gonzales.

Hodack, Brandon C.

He was born on Nov. 27, 1984 and battled Muscular Dystrophy from the time he was eleven years old. On Feb. 3, 2013, he passed away from his struggle and won the battle. Visiting was held at Household of Faith, on Saturday, Feb. 9.

Kinchen, Diane Cook

She was a native of Pontchatoula, and a resident of Gonzales. She was 63 years old. She was a former cook with BASF and worked at Wal Mart. She passed away on Jan. 31, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital Gonzales. Interment in Community Cemetery, Brittany.

Lavigne, Adlar Joseph "A.J."

He passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at his residence. He was a native of Gonzales and a resident of Walker. He retired from Exxon with 39 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the Navy CB's. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Park.

Millet, Rebecca Ann

A resident of Prairieville, she passed away at 12:25 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013. She was 53. Interment in Brabham Cemetery, Greensburg.

Sheets, Perry Joseph

A native and resident of St. Amant, he passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013. He was 79 and a retired Instrumentation Supervisor with BASF. He was also a veteran of the Korean War having served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Ascension Parish School Board for 18 years, Knights of Columbus Third Degree, and the VFW. Entombment in Holy Rosary Catholic Church mausoleum, St. Amant.

Smith, Emily Onezine

She passed away on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at the age of 85. She was a native of Romeville and a resident of Donaldsonville. Interment in Ascension Catholic Cemetery.

Ulm, Donald Anthony

A native of New Orleans, and a resident of Gonzales he passed away on Feb. 3, 2013 at 10:13 p.m. He was 79 and a retired manager with Western Electric/AT&T. He was also a veteran of the United States Army and was in the Korean War. Services were held at The Church in St. Amant on Thursday, Feb. 7.
