A resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away on Monday, April 13, 2009, at Lakewood Quarters. She was 91 and a native of Acy. Interment at Roselawn Cemetery, Baton Rouge

Bryant, M.J. “Butch”

M.J. “Butch” Bryant passed away March 25, 2009 at his home in Vicksburg, Miss. He was 52 and was born in Fayette, Miss. Feb. 6, 1957. He lived in Gonzales for four years until he moved to Vicksburg. He was a heavy equipment operator for Muirhead Dozer Service. Butch loved his job, hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by a sister, Veronica “Sue” Medine and step-father Raymond Gragg. He is survived by his mother, Rita Gragg of St. Amant; father, George Thomas Bryant of Vicksburg; sisters, Debbie Trabeau and Rita Rousseau; brother, Ricky Bryant and a number of relatives. Cummings, William R.    

A resident of Gonzales, he died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at his home. He was 90. Arrangements are pending with Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales.

Melancon Victor "Vic"        

A retiree from Local 102, he died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at his home in Sorrento. He was 72. Services are pending with Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Garon Melancon, Sorrento; two daughters, Vicki Melancon Gautreaux and Sheryl Hammock; a son, Michael Melancon, Dutchtown; a sister, Lonella Andermann, Sorrento; two brothers, Joseph "Fuzzy" Melancon and Roy Melancon, both of Sorrento; and grandchildren, Ashton Lessard, Hayden Melancon, Mikah Melancon, Brenden Melancon, Triston Lloyd and Landon Lloyd. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Eva Tullier Melancon; and brothers, Roland and Charlie Melancon.
