Beck, Myrtle Falcon
A native of Brusly McCall and a resident of Denham Springs. She was 76. A retired LPN, she died Monday, April 6, 2009. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Brunson, Jerry Hulon
A resident of Ascension Parish, he died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales. He was born in Hattiesburg, Miss., on Sept. 18, 1943. He attended Glen Oaks High School. After joining the U.S. Navy, he was assigned to the USS St. Paul during the Vietnam War. Graveside service will be held at Port Hudson National Cemetery at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 14.
Delaune Sr., Harold L.
Harold L. Delaune Sr. died at his home in Dutchtown at 5:50 p.m. Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009. Harold, 72, was the former owner of Diez Seafood Restaurant and Delaune’s Heating and Air Conditioning. He also worked in maintenance at various local petrochemical plants. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, June Braud Delaune; five children and their spouses, Tressie D. and John Pipsair, Jr., of Pierre Part; Trudy D. and Shane Madere Sr.; Tricia D. and Patrick Hymel; Monica N. and Hal Delaune; and Trent Delaune, all of Dutchtown; 14 grandchildren, Keely Kearns, Jeanne and Lauren Pipsair, Shane Jr., Joseph and Mallory Madere, Alexis, Alyssa, Adyson and Ayden Hymel, and Keibi, Kase, Kadyn and Demi Delaune; mother-in-law Audrey Braud; four sisters, Marie Braud of Dutchtown, Louise Cox of Houston, Texas, Ruth Nell Wilson of Arizona, and Sandra Asmus of Colorado; and one brother, Charles Delaune, of California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Cleveland “Cap” Delaune and Martha LeBlanc Delaune, and a brother, Edward Delaune, all of Dutchtown. A member of St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, Harold was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Visitation will be held at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 16. Burial to follow at Hope Haven in Prairieville. Pallbearers will be John Pipsair Jr., Shane Madere Sr., Patrick Hymel, Shane Madere Jr., Joseph Madere, and Kase Delaune. Delhommer, Myrtle Lambert Perck “Maw-Maw Mitt”
She died at 7:18 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009, at her home in Gonzales. She was 87 and a native of St. Amant. Funeral arrangements are pending with Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales.
Haydel, Stella Mae
She passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, in Bossier City. Stella, 96, was born on Aug. 27, 1912. She was retired from Bell Telephone (AT&T) as an assistant chief operator. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 at Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., prior to the service, at Greenoaks Funeral Home.
Forbes Sr., Robert Ervin
Funeral services for Robert Ervin Forbes Sr., 62, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 13, from the chapel of Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home. The Rev. Joe Marsh officiated. Mr. Forbes, a resident of Tylertown, died at the Walthall County General Hospital in Tylertown Friday, April 10, 2009. He was born Sept. 10, 1949 in Walthall County, Miss., the son of the late John Reacie and Lillie Mae Dillon Forbes. He was self-employed in the construction industry. He attended Calvary Baptist Church; was a member of the Walthall County District 3 Volunteer Fire Department; was a member of the New Orleans Local 37 Boilermakers’ Union; and had also served in the Mississippi National Guard. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Dale Forbes; and one sister, Mary Dean Cutrer. Mr. Forbes is survived by his wife, Clara McGhee Forbes of Tylertown; two sons, Robert E. “Pete” Forbes Jr. and Christopher Forbes, both of Gonzales; one daughter, Robbie Ellen Forbes of Baton Rouge; four brothers, John Forbes of Thomas, William Everett “Dick” Forbes of Angie, Walton W. Forbes of Tylertown, and Richard Forbes of Bogalusa; one sister, Jenell Dillon of Franklinton; three grandchildren, Arianna Forbes, Alaica Furlow, and Robert E. “Reece” Forbes III; and a special pet, Clementine. Pallbearers were Kenny Davis, Timmy Forbes, Tony Forbes, Greg Forbes, Greg Bush, and William Graves. Burial was held at the Oral Cemetery. Fontenot, Rodney Joseph “Goo”
A resident of Maurepas, he died late Wednesday, April 8, 2009. He was just shy of his 43rd birthday. As per his wishes, cremation followed.

Laird, James Edward “Jim”
A retired pipe welder and a resident of Gonzales, he died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He was 74, a native of Luverne, Ala., and a U.S. Air Force veteran. Interment in Mount Zion Cemetery in Galvez.
LeMoine, Ressie Dale
A native of Gonzales, he died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at age 59. A memorial Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant on Tuesday, April 14, at 6 p.m.
