Barber, Edith May Wilson        

A resident of Gonzales, she died early Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at Gonzales Health Care Center. She was 87 and a native of Jamestown, N.Y. She worked at Neese Industries in Gonzales for more than 30 years. As per her wishes, a private graveside service will be held in Mississippi.

Blackmon, Annie Bell        

A retired cook, a native of Darrow and a resident of Baton Rouge, she departed this life at 2:34 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 62. Memorial service at Hopeful Baptist Church, Darrow, on Friday, March 27, at 11 a.m. She attended Lowery High School and Delgado College. Arrangements by Hambrick Family Mortuary.

Boyd III, Louis Edward       

He was 36 and died Sunday, March 22, 2009, in Amite. He was a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Maurepas. Interment will follow in Killian Baptist Church Cemetery.

Christy, Marva Sue

John 6:35 I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. Marva Sue Christy, a native of Gonzales and resident of Baton Rouge, departed this life March 20, 2009 peacefully at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. She was 59. Marva was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and childcare provider by profession. She is survived by her mother, Emma Delmore; children, Tammy, Darryl, Chad, Tiffany and Kiesha Christy; grandchildren, Paris Shazier, Trevor, Shelby, Justin, Jasmine, Ciara, Todd Jr., Chad Jr., and Carmello Christy, Shon Jr. and Tyree Wilson; sisters, Jacqueline (Donald) Russell, Lynette Gibbs, Shirley (Minor) Williams, Connie (Melvin) Thomas, Donna Delmore and Rhonda Delmore; brothers, Nathaniel (Patricia) Delmore, George Delmore, Jason Delmore and Ronald (Bedelia) Hatter; godfather, Johnny Delmore; devoted friend, Vita Carriere and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her children, Todd Edison and Caria Michelle Christy, aunt and godmother, Pearl Delmore Nabor, and maternal grandparents, Lucille and John Delmore Sr. Visiting at Wilson-Wooddale Funeral Home, Saturday, March 28. Minister Lynette Gibbs will be officiating. Private services is for immediate family only. Interment at Prairieville Community Cemetery. Extended family and friends are welcome to fellowship with the family at the Geismar Fire Department after the private ceremony.
