Braud, Nellie Duvic

A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and faithful friend. A retired school bus driver and resident of Denham Springs, she died Saturday, March 14, 2009. She was born Sept. 14, 1914 in New Orleans. Visitation will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Denham Springs, Tuesday, March 17 at 10 a.m. until a Mass of Christian burial at noon. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by six daughters, Sharin Scallen, Barbara Kennedy and husband David, Betty Miller, Linda Melancon and husband Ken, Dianne Maxwell and Mark Kay Braud; four sons and daughter-in-laws, Cleave Braud and wife Peggy, Charles Braud and wife Rita, Joseph Braud and wife Linda and Leonard Braud and wife Barbara; 28 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and a sister, Leola Roberts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland P. Braud Sr.; parents, Charles and Caroline Duvic; grandson, Mark Kennedy; granddaughter, Krista Kennedy and a great- grandson, Chad Maxwell Jr. Pallbearers will be her son Charles Braud, grandsons, Michael Kennedy, Russell McIntyre, Chad Maxwell and Kevin Maxwell, and great- grandsons, Lane Davis and Corey Gieger. A reading will be by great-granddaughter, Lindsey Geiger. The family would like to thank Fr. Vincent, Fr. Andrew, Michelle Gearrusso, the wonderful staff that took such loving care of her at Harvest manor Nursing Home, the 5th floor staff at Oschner Summit Hospital, Life Source Hospice and La Plantation assisted living.

Hill, Odeal Favorite   

She was a retired educator with the Ascension Parish School Board with more than 30 years of service and a lifelong resident of Geismar. She died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. She was 78. Interment in Pilgrim Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Marchand, Paul Leslie "Nepo"        

He died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at his home. He was 80, a native of Duplessis and a resident of St. Amant. He was a retired maintenance worker for Borden Chemical Plant with 23 years of service. He also served in the U.S. Navy as a fireman first class from 1946-1948 aboard the USS Pasadena. A member of the American Legion and Knights of Columbus. Entombment in Holy Rosary Catholic Church Mausoleum.

Watts, Orie Faucheux       

A retired loan officer and a resident of Gonzales, she died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at The Carpenter House, Baton Rouge. She was 61 and a native of New Orleans. Arrangements are pending with Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, (225) 647-8608.
