Breland, Kevin James
A resident of Prairieville, he was born March 11, 1962 and died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Topham Breland and their children; Amanda Craven Green and husband Jonathan, Kevin Jr. “Buck” and Zachary Breland; grandchildren, Jonathan Green Jr., parents, Clarence and Cecilia Marchive Breland of Belle Chasse, three brothers, Mark, Keith and wife Mara and Clarence “Boo;” a sister, Claire Stubbs and her husband John; sisters-in-law, Eline Garcia and husband Juan, and Darlene Topham and brother-in-law, Dwight Topham Jr. and Pam; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kevin was a resident of Belle Chasse until 2005 when he brought his family to Prairieville. On Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009 Kevin’s ashes will be brought back to his childhood home in Belle Chasse. Christy, Ruth D.
A licensed practical nurse and resident of Prairieville, she died at 2:55 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales. She was 89 and a native of Gonzales. Interment in Mount Gillion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Dorsey, Augustine “Na-Naine”
A homemaker, private sitter and a lifelong resident of Donaldsonville, she died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at age 94. Interment in Ascension Catholic Cemetery. She was baptized as a Catholic on Aug. 5, 1967, by the Rev. Edward Norton, SSJ.
Dunham, Anna Hoang
She was a native of Vietnam and a resident of St. Amant. She was 58 and died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009. Entombment in Holy Rosary Catholic Church Mausoleum. She was a retired teacher from St. Amant High School and an employee of COEA.
Martin, Margaret Ann Montero
A lifelong resident of Donaldsonville, she succumbed to ovarian cancer at her home on Friday, Feb. 6, 2009. She was 72. Interment in Ascension Catholic Church Cemetery, Donaldsonville. An active member of Ascension Catholic Church in Donaldsonville, she was lector and the leader of a small faith-sharing group for more than 20 years. She was employed for 23 years with the Clerk of Court of Ascension Parish and retired in 2004 as chief deputy.
Mayer, Bernice Margaret
A native of Chaska, Minn., and a resident of Gonzales, she died early Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Gonzales Health Care Center. She was 85. Interment in the St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, the St. Mark Altar Society and served on the St. Mark Bingo and Fair committees.
