WEATHER ALERT: Flash flood watch issued for area

Staff reports

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for southeastern Louisiana through 4 p.m. today.

Thunderstorms are expected to develop today to the south and east of a nearly stationary front situated from McComb, Miss. to Lafayette, La., according to the service.

More rain and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day and Tuesday as cold air strengthens the stationary front, turning into a cold front that will move east, the service reported.
