State Rep. Tony Bacala

State Rep. Tony Bacala (R-Prairieville) has announced that Speaker Taylor Barras (R-New Iberia) has appointed him to the committees for Appropriations, Administration of Criminal Justice, Retirement and Joint Legislative Committee on Budget.

“I am very pleased with these committee assignments, and I thank Speaker Barras and his leadership team for placing me where my past experience can best be utilized in addressing the needs of the state,” Bacala said.

“On February 14, we will begin a special session of the Legislature to address the state’s severe budgetary challenges, and tough decisions will have to be made. The people of District 59 can be assured that the following are my priorities for addressing these challenges: one, seeking out cost savings measures to improve the efficiency of state government without degrading service; two, keeping Louisiana’s economic climate competitive to attract business and industrial growth and the creation of high paying jobs; three, ensuring that Ascension Parish is represented to the fullest in its infrastructure and educational needs,”
