Louis Lambert announces candidacy for School Board District 6

I, Louis D. Lambert, am running to become an Ascension Parish School Board member in District 6B. I would consider it a privilege to obtain this position. I humbly seek your support during the November 4 election of 2014.

My wife Kristy L. Lambert and I have been lifelong residents of Ascension Parish and have resided in Prairieville since marriage. We have two wonderful children: Landon, who is currently a freshman at Southeastern Louisiana University and Lauren, who is an eight grader at St. Theresa of Avila School.

I attended Galvez Elementary School and graduated from St. Amant High School in 1988. During my senior year, I got accepted into the DECA program which entailed me to attend half my school day at Ascension Vocational Technical School in Sorrento for welding classes. I obtained a job at Atmos Energy as a welder and crew foreman. I’ve been working there for the past twenty-six years. I serve on their cooking team which helps out with plenty of charitable organizations. I also volunteer through the Volunteer Ascension program to support our kids with “Stuff the Bus” and collecting school supplies and uniforms. I’m a member of St. Marks Catholic Church. I have coached several youth baseball teams in Ascension Parish, which I have enjoyed immensely.

I am running for this position because I love and care for this parish, I want to preserve schools, maintain and improve academic excellence. As Ascension Parish rapidly grows, we need to focus on the future of our children.
