Also wins multiple awards for sales excellence

Dana Johnson, owner of Decorating Den Interiors in Gonzales, received a top design award in her company’s international design contest for outstanding design work. The award was presented at Decorating Den Interiors 46th annual conference held recently in Jacksonville, Fla. Johnson was awarded for her dramatic room makeover in the commercial design category.

Johnson explained that her commercial space featured “a modern design for a local jeweler that brings a chic, fresh look to the Baton Rouge area.”

This was the company’s 31st annual International Dream Room awards competition. Judging was done by journalists from across the U.S. and Canada who write about interiors for such publications as Traditional Home, House Beautiful, Design NY, the Canadian magazine Arabella and for national syndication and regional publications. Winners were selected based on their design excellence, creative problem solving, and overall presentation.

Johnson also received an Inaugural Award, Director’s award, and Rookie of the Year for her 2014 sales. Rookie of the Year is awarded to only one new franchise owner each year that greatly excels in sales. Johnson says, “I was shocked and honored to receive Rookie of the Year out of so many new franchise owners from 2014.” In addition to her awards, Johnson was also chosen out of 400+ franchise owners to speak on the annual Success Panel, where she shared her secrets to success with her colleagues.

Johnson has access to an extensive library of before and after high resolution, digital photographs featuring the top three room makeovers in each of the 12 categories of room makeovers, which makes for an ideal workshop or seminar program for organizations looking for meeting programs. “I also have new ideas and product information from many discussions with our suppliers,” she added.

Decorating Den Interior’s room makeovers have been featured in such publications as Good Housekeeping, Canadian House and Home, Better Homes and Gardens, Woman’s Day, House Beautiful, House and Garden and Arabella. In addition, the company has been featured in a variety of design segments on HGTV and The Discovery Channel.

“As North America’s largest interior design and home furnishings franchise company, we represent more than 85 home furnishings suppliers and offer our customers furniture, case goods, accessories, lighting, floor and wall coverings, draperies and other hard and soft window treatments,” Johnson explains. “We bring samples directly to the client’s home or office, provide complimentary design services and personally oversee projects through installation.”

Decorating Den Interiors was founded in 1969 and has interior design professionals and decorators throughout the U.S. and Canada.
