Scotts Growth Media Plant donates mulch for Kidz Kove Garden

Malcolm Carter’s mission is to share his company’s products for the betterment of this community. He came to Ascension in October of 2014 to become the plant manager for Scotts Miracle-Gro Growth Media Company in Geismar. He is interested in the landscape of local public venues. While visiting Kidz Kove recently, he decided to donate mulch to the Gonzales Garden Club for upkeep on their bed there. Collaboration between GGC member Kat Hightower and Carter resulted in Scotts’ donation of 15 bags of mulch delivered to the children’s park on Friday, May 15. Garden club members were on hand to spread the mulch to help the plants and beautify the area. Carter believes that “gardens and green spaces have the power to transform our cities and the lives of residents,” and he would like to contribute to “the positive influence of these green spaces.” “ Thank you so very much, Mr. Carter,” said a GGC spokesperson. “You’ve come to the right place!”
