Steak Cooking Contest

Date: June 27, 2015

Place: Juniors Meat Market, 17050 High Water Rd., French Settlement (Next door to Moonlight Inn)

Time: Beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 11:15 a.m.

Plate lunches will be sold to the public, starting at 11 a.m.

Pastalaya or BBQ chicken

Competing Dishes: Steak = “beef” Ribeye-T-bone, or Porterhouse

Pork = Pork chop or pork steak

Baked Potato = filled with whatever you like

$20.00 per category

1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each of the three competitions

• $20.00 entry fee for each category: steak, pork chop, potato

• Dish has to be cooked on site the day of the cook-off and ready to be judged at 11:15 a.m. All cooking utensils, tents, tables, pits, burners and other equipment must be provided by cooks.

• Some preparations may be made in advance. Ex: Marinade

• Each cook must cook two entries one for judging and one for other cooks to test each other’s entry.

• You will be given a hinged container to turn your entry in to the judges. You must supply a small cutting board with steak and pork chop entries.

• Teams or individuals may have sponsors. Sponsors may advertise or decorate their tables and tents.

• The deadline to turn in registration forms is June 25th.

• Registration forms along with entry fee “cash” can be dropped off at Juniors Meat Market or Galvez Hardware and Outdoor Cooking.

• All money raised will go back to the cooks, 1st, 2nd. And 3rd place prizes.
