The Louisiana Rural Caucus has announced the election and appointment of officers for the 2015-2016 year, and has appointed State Representative Ed Price, D-Gonzales.

The Rural Caucus, whose membership includes 87 legislators from around the state, is an organization that serves to promote and better the conditions and objectives of rural areas of Louisiana.

"I appreciate the confidence Chairman Montoucet has shown in appointing me a member of this fine group. I share his desire to work toward the objectives of rural Louisiana, and look forward to settling the issues that face our state,” Price said.

Elected to the House in 2011, Price serves on the House Commerce, Education, and Retirement committees; as well as the Atchafalaya Basin Program Oversight Committee. In addition to the Rural Caucus, he is also a member of the Acadiana Delegation, Democratic Caucus, Capital Region Legislative Delegation, and the Vice Char of the Louisiana Black Caucus.
