Burch and Ferrell honored during LSU's commencement

Leslie Marie Burch, left, and Anna Elizabeth Ferrell were honored Thursday morning, May 14 as 2 of the 43 LSU University Medalist for the May 2015 graduating class. This honor goes to students that graduate with the highest GPA in their respective college. Both Burch and Ferrell earned a perfect 4.0 GPA in the College of Human Sciences & Education. Burch received her BS Degree in Kinesiology and Ferrell received her BS degree in Education. Ferrell was also selected to deliver the Commencement Address to her fellow students at their diploma ceremony on Friday night in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Both Burch and Ferrell are 2011 graduates of Dutchtown High School. In addition to Baton Rouge Magnet High, Dutchtown High School was the only other school with two honorees. Leslie is the daughter of Ed and Sally Burch of Prairieville and Anna is the daughter of Ray and Elizabeth Ferrell of Geismar.
