The South Louisiana Crawfish boiling contest, held recently at Lamar Dixon Expo Center, benefited the “Dreams Come True Foundation.” The event was a success, with rain threating all day, the party went forward. There were over 40 cars in the car show, over 45 vendors in the craft show, plenty of Karaoke singers and 23 cooks in the crawfish boiling contest.

There was also a crawfish eating contest, kids’ play land, powered parachute demonstrations, T-shirts, 50-50 raffle, washer board contest, and jambalaya. The total raised that day was $8000.00.

The event was put together by Leslie and Rodney Dupuy of “Cajun Livin N Cookin.”

“It also took a lot of help from a great committee to make something like this come together,” said Rodney Dupuy. “We want to give our committee members a huge thank you! We couldn’t have pulled it together without all of you.

Rodney added, that thanks also goes out to the volunteers that came out, our sponsors, judges, the committee members, NA NA Sha, and the public for attending. Hope to see y’all next year, it will be bigger and better. And just maybe, we can brighten the life of more children.
